Post Quarantine Fashion Inspiration

Hi all!

If you haven’t read my previous post about sewing scrubs for the NHS then please check it out! We’ve just finished our latest batch of bright pink scrubs and they’re by the door ready to be collected!

We’ve all heard the news that lockdown is to be extended again, it’s another blow to the retail sector but not exactly unexpected. It’s always better to be safe than sorry so we’re continuing to work from home, trying to be creative with our content and packing orders with extra care. Unfortunately, we’ve had to push back a lot of the exciting plans we had for this summer including content shoots, product sampling and collaborations.

So, as we can’t do any street styling shoots for obvious reasons and can’t do anything in the studio, I thought for this #SaturdayStyle I’d remain optimistic! Yes, I’ve compiled a rundown of looks we want to be wearing as soon as the Covid-19 quarantine is over. They’re looks for summer BBQs, weddings and casual weekends. Please don’t forget to share this post to your social pages if you’ve enjoyed it!

Kicking it off is three perfect wedding guest outfits…

You know what I can’t wait for once this quarantine is over? Going crazy with fashion – actually getting dressed up! And not just dressed from the waist up. It’s been such a long time now since I’ve even put make up on and clothes that don’t consist of gym wear, comfortable fleece tops and boyfriend shirts. I know I run a fashion company but to look at me whilst I’m sat behind my desk working…well, quite frankly, I look like a mouldy potato! Slash someone who’s prepping for an artic expedition. I have no plans to go near the Artic but from my outfit you’d think I’d raided Millets and was prepping for the inevitable. All hail the ski fleece!

This dress is a statement piece but you probably couldn’t wear it to a wedding; cue the bride’s wrath. I think it does make a great summer evening dress. I’ve paired it down with a pair of flats and of course added a Tamara Harvey bag. The key to pulling off statement dresses is to remember what the focus is. Always keep your make up and accessories minimal if you’re going to wear a dress like this. Sweep your hair back into a chignon or a bun and let the dress do all the talking.

This is a very youthful, casual look. Great for jumping on and off planes or casual weekends. Remember when we used to enjoy Pimm’s in a sunny beer garden…? Those were the days!

I’m running through these as quick as I can because we have a lot to get through so next up is a very simple but fun nautical outfit. I grew up in Devon so I love a striped Breton top – j’adore! This reminds me of something I’d wear jumping on and off the boat in the summer; practical but stylish this look is great for all body shapes and ages. Usually I’m not a fan of denim shorts as I prefer to wear chino shorts but these have added circle detail which elevates them.

I’ve paired this look with our best-selling leather tote bag in yellow. They make such great bags because of their size and durability. They’ve all got secure hanging zip pockets to stow your keys, cards and cash, and are unlined for easy cleaning.

I’ve already mentioned my favourite colour is red and I am convinced these trousers are made for me! To create these images, I’ve using urstyle.com so unfortunately, I can’t see where they’re from but I will be trying to sew my own version. I love the vibrancy of the colour and the long, slightly flared hem which will make any legs look longer. I’ve paired it with quirky check top which would be very easy to mix and match with other pieces. This is more of a sophisticated office look – remember when we could work in an office?! So I’ve added our best-selling black leather tote bag (click HERE to shop).

You know I love colour and these tangerine orange top has my name written all over it – well not literally; it has Marks & Spencer’s name over it….anyway! Whilst I know it’s not a colour for everyone but I think it works for the office and summer BBQs. Throw on a pair of white trousers and you’re sophisticated with a capital ‘S’! For this look I’ve made it a bit more office appropriate by adding gingham sandals and our tote bag in black. If you wanted to transition to the night time then swap the sandals for high nude heels and the white trousers for a leather mini skirt.

That’s all for today folks! I hope you enjoyed this piece and it gave you a bit of inspiration for your wardrobe. I know it’s hard to shop for frivolous things like clothes, shoes and bags during a crisis like this but the retail sector is struggling and there’s some seriously great independent brands which need all the support they can. So please, shop local, shop small and shop independent!
